What is Short Rest Café
Short Rest Café is a tabletop gaming café coming soon to a yet-to-be-determined location. The name is a nod to the "short rest" mechanic in Dungeons & Dragons, a brief pause to recover and regroup, which perfectly captures the vibe: a comfortable place to take a break, grab a drink, and enjoy a game with friends. The café will combine a cozy, welcoming coffee shop atmosphere with a fully stocked game library and event space, designed for everyone from hardcore TCG competitors to families looking for a fun weekend activity to complete beginners who have never rolled a twenty-sided die.

Short Rest Café exists to build community through tabletop gaming. We provide a welcoming, all-ages space where players of every skill level can gather, learn new games, and connect over shared adventures, without needing to own expensive equipment or have a dedicated play space at home.
What We Offer
Table and Game Library Access
Hourly and day-pass access to a library of 200+ board games, with tables sized for groups of 2–8. Staff are available to teach games.
Food and Beverage
Full espresso bar, loose-leaf teas, cold drinks, pastries, sandwiches, and shareable snacks. Everything is priced affordably for students and families.
Trading Card Game Tournaments
Weekly Friday Night Magic (Commander and Draft formats), Pokémon TCG league nights, and occasional larger competitive events with prize support.
Beginner D&D Classes
Weekly "How to Play Dungeons & Dragons" sessions for newcomers. Includes pre-made character sheets, dice, and a guided one-shot adventure led by an experienced Dungeon Master.
Miniature Painting Station
A dedicated workspace with paints, brushes, primer, and tools available for hourly rental. Perfect for hobbyists who want to paint but don't have the supplies or space at home.
Retail Corner
A small retail section selling board games, dice sets, miniatures, card sleeves, playmats, and accessories.
